Uveal colobomas present typically in inferior or inferonasal quadrant of the eye. Their occurence in other quadrants is extremely rare. We report characteristics of reverse (superotemporal) uveal colobomas. Of the 4 cases (5 eyes), 3 had unilateral reverse coloboma and 1 case had it bilaterally. Of the 5 eyes, 3 eyes had microcornea, 3 eyes had developmental cataract, 2 eyes had fullthickness iris coloboma in superotemporal quadrant and one eye had rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Fundal coloboma in all the 5 eyes were located in superotemporal quadrant and had characteristics similar to typical inferior colobomas with full thickness involvement of retina and choroid and easy visibility of sclera. Ultrawidefield imaging was obtained in all patients using Optos or Retcam. Optical coherence tomography was obtained through the coloboma in 3 patients. All patients underwent prophylactic laser delimitation of the coloboma and eye with retinal detachment underwent buckling surgery.
