FP1738 : Histopathological nature of conjunctival masses attending tertiary center in Jharkhand

Aim-To evaluate clinicopathologic characteristic of conjunctival mass. Method-Prospective study was conducted in tertiary center from October 2017 to March 2018. 39 patients between age group of 16-65years were evaluated. Tissue were harvested and sent for Histopathological examination. Results -Male(22) outnumber female(17). 24 patients suffered from pterygium.Benign leison with chronic inflammatory cells were found in 9 patients.Three patient of squamous cell carcinoma were noted out of which two were non keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma. Three miscellaneous cases were found out of which two were cystecercosis and one was fungal infection. Conclusion -Histopathological examination of conjunctival mass is necessary to identify the type of leison so that early treatment can be initiated.
