Diagnosing & intervening in cases of Descemet’s membrane detachment(DMD) in early post operative period after Phacoemulsification surgery Methods:40 patients undergoing Phaco developed striate keratopathy grade 2+/3+/4+ onwards with or without stromal edema. All patients underwent early post op ASOCT( Day 1) to rule out presence of DMD. In 30 cases (V/A ≤6/60) central/para-central DMD was noted followed by air injection (AI) & proper lying down position .10 cases with small central/paracentral DMD were discharged without intervention Results:Of 30 patients undergoing AI, 21( 70%) had no DMD on 7th day (V/A≥6/12 ).4 out of 9 cases with persistent DMD required repeat AI , while in 5 only medications continued .DMD persisted at 21 days in 2 of these 4 cases of which 1 developed bullous keratopathy.Of 10 cases wherein no active intervention was done only 1 case required air injection on 7th day. Conclusion:DMD diagnosed and treated in early post-op period yields optimum visual outcomes
