Aim -To know the surgical outcome of a full thickness large upper eye lid defect using skin flap taken from forehead and cutler beard procedure at the same sitting.
Method and Materials-An upper lid mass, involving full thickness total upper lid was excised, followed by reconstruction with transpositional graft taken from the forehead and cutler beard procedure. The mass was excised leaving a healthy area of 4 mm around it.The transpositional flap was sutured posteriorly with the conjunctiva and anteriorly with the adjoining skin to cover the excised part of the lid which was not covered by cutler beard procedure. Separation of the lid margin was done after one month. In follow up position of the graft , closure of the eye and movement of lid was noted.
Result: Post Operatively function of lid was restored.
Conclusion: This is a method of upper lid reconstruction for tumours involving full thickness and total length procedure where cutler beard is inadequate to cover the defect.
